Transforming Tired into Tres Chic: Latest Projects

At Alayna Louise Interiors, we design pieces that create an alluring juxtaposition between old and new. We hope, through remixing antiques, to spark interest in our generation so that wonderful antiques will live on not only to tell stories of our ancestors, but also acknowledge and embrace the present and future of design. This ottoman/coffee table is exemplary of exactly what we love to envision and create.

When I stumbled upon this coffee table, I was sifting through items that had just been unloaded from the European container. I actually overlooked it several times while my eyes bounced and danced around the surrounding European Antiques. The coffee table donned an unsightly pink marble top, cobwebs, and was missing some of the original gold gilt which was covered in dust. Needless to say, it looked rough. However, I finally took a second, third, and forth look at the late 1880s French piece  and I removed the top. Wow, I thought to myself, It actually has some potential without the marble! So I wheeled a deal, and headed out with some treasures, among them the coffee table (minus the marble of course). The next day I ordered some fabulous navy Mohair Velvet. By tufting the table with Mohair, we transformed the tired coffee table into a chic and comfortable ottoman style table. We hope you love her as much as we do!
